3 nights at Paddlers Inn. This newly renovated motel is located in Christmas just a short drive from the Duck Pond eatery and Beer Garden and the Lake Superior Beaches. A spacious, quiet and comfortable place to relax after a day of adventure kayaking, canoeing and boat touring on Lake Superior.
Spend a day on the water kayaking through the 200 foot sandstone cliffs of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Paddle through the many sea caves, among the vibrant colors and under the famous Lover’s Leap Archway, one of the top kayaking destinations in the world. Checking in at 8:30am where you grab a quick light breakfast, take a short bus ride to Miners beach get geared up and out on the water. Midway through your day you will stop for your included lunch on the secluded Mosquito Beach. After lunch make your way through the cliffs back to Miners beach amazed at the beauty you missed.
Your Lunch Cruise around Grand Island will include a meal at the Duck Pond Eatery and Beer Garden starting at 11am. Sample award winning Texas BBQ, Whitefish Tacos or a famous Burger and enjoy 40 Michigan craft beers (alcohol and gratuity not included). At 12:30pm climb aboard the 40 foot M/V Uncle Ducky. The Captain and crew will take you around Grand Island National Recreation Area delighting you with tales of Native Americans and sights of 200 foot sandstone cliffs offering beautiful colors along the islands north shore.
Paddle down the lazy Au Train River. Spend a day relaxing and paddling through the Hiawatha National Forest watching Eagles soar overhead, fish, ducks, songbirds, great blue herons, kingfishers, muskrats, and turtles. Spend half a day enjoying this quiet relaxing trip without rapids or portages along the Au Train River.
Breakfast every morning at the new “Breakfast Nook” at the Paddlers Inn and 2 Dinners or lunches at the Duck Pond Eatery and Beer Garden. This can be just after your kayak trip or maybe before your canoe trip. Enjoy the cool air of the back beer garden sampling fresh caught Lake Superior Whitefish Bites, fresh BBQ pulled pork or a famous burgers. Don’t forget to try all of the over 40 Michigan Craft Beers.
